Difference between wakeboard boat and deck boat wake size?

I have a deck boat with a Wakeboard Tower and was wondering if having a wakeboard boat would help me get more air I can clear the wake and 180 the wake I try to get high but just wanted to know if a wakeboard boat would help with that Alot or just help my height alittle?

The main difference is in the price you pay between the two boats. The Wake board boat has a way to control the type of wake it creates by adding water or subtracting water from onboard tanks to make the stern of the boat ride lower in the water, thus creating a deeper hole to form a big wake or no wake at all, (well hardly any wake). Then there are helm controls to keep the boat locked onto a set speed no matter the water issues.

Your Deck boat is fine for what you do. The wake between the two boats isn’t that much better to get you much if any, more air height. I know, I have friends with a Malibu Wake Board boat, friends with Bow Riders with towers, and then I have the Express Cruiser. My wake is almost 4′ high at 50′ behind the boat and most people get plenty of air behind me. We most use my boat for Wake Surfing and not boarding.

How many channels are the amps?

If one of them is a 4 channel, I would amp the two tower speakers and the two speakers in the back of the boat. Leave the in-boat speakers in the front of the boat hooked up to stereo power. Is the boat an open bow? Assuming it is, the amped rear in boat speakers should be enough for the passengers sitting in the bow.

Now if the other amplifier is a 2 channel, you can bridge it to the subwoofer. Make sure you match the amp’s ohm value with the subwoofer.

I have installed systems in two boats before. Never done an open bow though, but my guess is you would want the powered speakers in the back, because that is where the motor is. The front of the boat is furthest from the motor, so the only "noise" you will have to deal with is the wind. A set of stereo-powered speakers up in the bow should work.

And also, as a sidenote, you might want to do some experimenting with those tower speakers. The amp that you have powering them may be enough, or may not be. You will have to see when you get in the water. When you’re pulling your skier/tuber, the wind will be taking the sound from the boat to him, so it might not be a worry.

Can you wakeboard off a seadoo without a tower?

Just wondering if this is possible. I’ve wakeboarded off of boats from the hook but I’m not sure if the hook on the sea doo (just above the swim platform) is high enough in comparison. Not sure on the exact horsepower but I think it’s between 150-200 hp. Thanks!

Yes you can. Legally, the seadoo must be a 3 seater machine to tow anything, wakeboard included. You must have room for the driver, spotter, and recover the rider if necessary. This rule is enforced some places more than others. The horsepower is not an issue, they have tons of power for pulling. Sometimes it will seem like too much if you don’t have a competent driver. Wakeboards can create an incredible amount of drag and sideways pull, and can pull the light watercraft all over the place. An inexperienced driver will compensate too hard with the throttle, and the powerful engine can really pull you off balance.
The wake won’t be huge, and that, with the lack of the tower equals very little air, but certainly they work fine for surface tricks and cruising back and forth. I’ve wakeboarded behind them plenty of times.
More and more people that are using PWC’s as their towboat are getting into wakeskating. It’s very similar to wakeboarding, but without the big air tricks, and you don’t create the drag a wakeboarder does, so driving is more pleasant as well.

the tower is designed to pull at an upward angle for a skier to have easier time and more control. The tower also removes the stress from the transom or deck of the boat from a single point, and distributes the pressure to many points of the boat. The tower also works to remove the tendency for the tail of the boat to "Walk" sideways as a skier/boarder makes their cuts.

Yes you can install one on your boat. Many boats are fit later on with these type of items.

Will they fit with my bimini????? Also, which do you recommend?

I’ve see some tow towers that mount aft of the bimini, but I don’t know if your boat can be mounted that way. The one i saw was a 24 ft. boat. It’s a pretty sure bet the bimini is not high enough to fit over the tower , and I don’t think it would work that way.

I dont have a tower, but need a place on my boat to store my wakeboard. Can i just buy a rack to mount to like the side of my boat, of the bimini top of something???

I did find this, it does seem like this person went a little over with it, it depends on how strong your bimini support rods are and if not how much work you willing to go through

Why cant he get up on a wakeboard?

My friends dad is very heavy. id say about 200 something pounds? and everyone has gotten up on the wakeboard but him. when he tries to get up he just sinks?! they want a wake tower so it will pull him UP but idk? what do you think could be the problem?

he is probably TRYING to stand up. when you wakeboard you don’t want to try to get up, but do the opposite, and try to hold yourself in the water as long as possible, letting the board suck up to your butt. he is most likely trying to stand up too soon and pushing the board underwater. my dad had that problem at first.

I just bought a new wakeboard boat with a high pole. I have a few friends that weigh in over 130kg, should I let them use the high pole or wait until I get a Tower?

How much weight the pole can take depends on the pole. I would look it up using the specific model you have.
