I dont have a tower, but need a place on my boat to store my wakeboard. Can i just buy a rack to mount to like the side of my boat, of the bimini top of something???
I did find this, it does seem like this person went a little over with it, it depends on how strong your bimini support rods are and if not how much work you willing to go through

You can mount a rack on the fiberglass, but not on the rails under 1" in diameter. Even then you would have to reinforce the mounting pads for the rails. Rails are going to have to be Stainless Steel for the strength. If you elect to mount on the fiberglass, be sure to add a large backer board behind the bolts so you don’t break out the glass. The weight of the boards and the shaking around places a lot of stress on anything you mount the rack to. I’ve done it to my Sport boat, but there was a lot of work to properly strengthen the rails to support the weight and shock. Don’t even think about mounting on the Bimini frame. It’ll fold up and cost you a small fortune to replace.
